  That's right! Our own "Master of Ceremonies" Harley Carnes was a guest announcer at this year's Sun n' Fun in Lakeland, Florida. With his smooth voice Harley delighted the audience during a United States Aerobatic Foundation History of Aerobatic Competition demonstration.

  Former aircraft such as a Bucker, Pitts, Laser, Hurricane, as well as current aircraft like Sukhoi, Edge 540 and Cap 232 were piloted by several past and present team members.

  Val was a member of Chapter 52 many years ago. He was a judge first and then the chief judge for many years. Montaine thinks he may have a judge at our Chapters first contest in 1976 or 77! Val and his wife were always ready to help and did so much for the sport and our Chapter in the early years. Val served on the IAC board of directors in 1983 & 1984. He was a judge and a chief judge at more contests than can be counted. He was a founding member of Chapter 35 in New England and served as its president and vice-president for many years. He was a staunch supporter of "grass-roots" aerobatics and remained active in general aviation after his retirement from Eastern Airlines. A memorial service was held March 13, 2000 in Milford, NH.
