The 2005 Kathy Jaffe Challenge is in the books. What a fantastic weekend!
Despite the hazy/hot/humid weather, the contest was well-attended, with nearly 35 entrants flying in to the contest site at the fantastic Flying W Airport Resort. We spend much of Thursday, and every last minute of Friday morning, trying to give everyone who wanted to practice a shot at the aerobatic box. Then we had a full day-and-a-half of contest flying, with dedicated volunteers putting in long (and hot!) hours on the judging line and elsewhere.The weather on Sunday was not good enough to fly. But even so, over the contest weekend we managed to get three flights for Primary and Sportsman, and two flights for Intermediate, Advanced, and Unlimited.
Thanks to everyone who organized this contest, volunteered, competed, or stopped by for a visit. For many of us, it was the best contest we've ever attended!
